Some wedding days stay with you long after you pack up your camera. Parker and Naomi’s wedding day was one of those for me. Gatlinburg’s Little Log Wedding Chapel provided the perfect spot for their intimate day.
It was cold, rainy, and gray in the Smoky Mountains, but from the moment I arrived, it was clear this day was going to be something special. Not because everything went perfectly, but because it was filled with intention, deep love, and the kind of moments that really matter.
This was a true winter mountain wedding. Temperatures were in the 30s, it rained most of the day, and the sky stayed completely overcast. If you’ve ever been in the mountains in December, you know how quickly the light disappears. We had about a 15-minute window to capture portraits before it was fully dark.
I spent a big portion of the day holding an umbrella while photographing in the rain, which honestly is not unusual for me. This is one of those days where experience really matters. When couples look back at their photos, I never want them to see the stress, the weather, or the chaos behind the scenes. I want them to see how it felt.
Looking at Parker and Naomi’s images, you’d never know how cold or rainy it was. And that’s always my goal.
One of the most meaningful parts of the day was Naomi’s dress.
She wore her mother’s wedding dress, but made it her own in the most thoughtful way. The original gown was reworked into a modern look with pants on the bottom, a separate top, and a removable piece tied around her waist with custom bows. At first glance it looked like a traditional dress, but it gave Naomi the freedom to move comfortably and express her personal style.
It was such a beautiful reflection of her. Honoring where she came from while stepping confidently into her own season.
Later, Naomi’s mom walked her down the aisle. Naomi’s father had passed away from cancer, and this was an incredibly emotional moment that felt peaceful, full of love, and deeply personal.
At the altar, Naomi’s mother also gave Parker “the key” to Naomi’s heart. It was a simple gesture, but it carried so much meaning. You could feel how much love and trust was being placed in that moment.
Parker and Naomi chose to keep their ceremony small, with around 40 of their closest family members and friends. That choice set the tone for the entire day. There was no rushing, no pressure, and no distractions.
The wedding took place on Tuesday, December 2nd, which allowed them to step away from traditional expectations and do what felt right for them. The colors were classic winter red and green, and everything felt cozy and intentional.
Instead of hosting a large reception the same day, they planned to celebrate with extended family and friends the following weekend at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort. This allowed them to end their wedding day with a relaxed dinner with family and actually enjoy being present together. As a photographer, I love when couples give themselves that space.
Parker and Naomi met on the Christian dating app Upward. Parker had joined less than three days before Naomi, and they matched almost immediately. Their first date happened just over a week later, and they shared their first kiss that night. They also decided to be official on that same date.
Things moved quickly, and in their case, it just felt right.
Parker proposed on Star Wars Day, May 4th. They spent the day together at church, went to a movie with family, and then drove to a park behind the library in Maryville. That’s where he proposed. Later, they had dinner at the same restaurant where they went on their first date.
When Naomi talks about Parker, she speaks about his character, his awareness, and the way he speaks life into people. Parker talks about loving all the little things about Naomi and how they come together so naturally. The thing they were most excited about on their wedding day was simply being married and starting this next chapter together before God.
Gatlinburg’s Little Log Wedding Chapel is perfect for couples who want something intimate and meaningful. It’s tucked next to the mountains and offers a quiet, cozy setting that doesn’t feel overwhelming.
Parker and Naomi loved how personal it felt and how the outdoor surroundings added to the experience without distracting from the moment itself. For smaller weddings and elopements, this chapel allows couples to slow down and focus on what matters most.
Parker and Naomi’s wedding day was full of quiet moments that carried so much meaning. Love between a husband and wife, the bond between a mother and daughter, and the presence of family honoring both the past and the future.
The rain, the cold, and the tight timeline didn’t take anything away from their day. If anything, it made the moments feel even more real.
Being trusted to document a day like this is something I never take lightly. Parker and Naomi’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that when a day is built with intention and heart, everything else falls into place.
