I never get tired of hearing the stories of what led my couples to each other. Today, I get to share the heartwarming story of Coen and Lexi. I recently had the honor of capturing their engagement session in downtown Naples. This sweet session came after a surprise engagement!

In Perfect Time

It all began years ago when Coen and Lexi were middle schoolers. Both homeschooled, they attended elective classes with a group of Christian families. Despite sitting just seats apart, their paths never truly crossed. It wasn’t until years later, days before Lexi’s high school graduation, that fate intervened. Her cousin insisted on taking her to a dinner for ice cream and suggested she meet a friend from her Bible study. Lexi was skeptical but curious. That night, she showed her mom a picture of Coen, the friend her cousin wanted her to meet. To her surprise, her mom burst into laughter and pulled up an old photo of Lexi and Coen sitting next to each other in middle school. Their story had begun much earlier than they thought.

Fast forward to their college years, and Lexi finally agreed to attend a Bible study with her cousin, where she again met Coen. Sparks flew, and they quickly realized how much they had in common. From finishing each other’s sentences to their shared faith, falling in love was effortless. Their relationship blossomed into something truly special, a testament to their deep connection and mutual love for the Lord.

The Big Surprise

Coen’s proposal was nothing short of magical. Not wanting to spoil the surprise, both families spent the day at the luxurious JW in Marco Island celebrating Lexi’s 21st birthday. As the sun began to set, Coen took Lexi for a walk on the beach. Little did she know, this stroll would lead to a surprise proposal.

Coen and Lexi share a love for spontaneous adventures and competitive fun. Of course their excitement for spontaneity needed to be weaved into such a special day. They enjoy traveling together and have made it a priority to explore new places at least once a month. Whether it’s a movie night, arcade games, beach picnics, or painting together, their date nights are always filled with joy and connection.

A Beautiful Session in Downtown Naples, FL

Downtown Naples provides such a sophisticated style for any session. The botanical diversity gave each shot its own personality. The historic charm and vibrant energy of Naples provided the perfect backdrop for their photos. We wandered through the streets, capturing their laughter and tender moments. I witnessed firsthand the palpable love between Coen and Lexi. When asked about their favorite things about each other, Lexi couldn’t help but smile as she spoke of Coen’s ability to make her laugh in any situation and his unwavering love for the Lord. Coen, on the other hand, admires Lexi’s sympathetic heart, her willingness to cry and pray with anyone in need.

A Look Ahead

Their wedding day at The First Congregational Church of Naples, promises to be a beautiful celebration of their love. Following the ceremony, they will continue the festivities at The White Rose in Naples, surrounded by family and friends. Lexi can’t wait for the moment Coen sees her in her wedding dress and the chance to dance to Dancing Queen by ABBA with her bridesmaids. Coen, meanwhile, looks forward to the moment Lexi walks down the aisle, marking the start of their forever together.
