Gaby and George’s wedding celebration at the Heitman House in Fort Myers, Florida was the perfect event to shoot in a documentary style. I love to give my couples the freedom to be in the moment! I had the pleasure of capturing the day with my Canon Mirrorless r6. Using a documentary style, I can preserve the authenticity and emotion of each moment. This creates a visual narrative that Gaby and George can cherish forever.
Gaby fell in love with the Heitman House for its location on the water and the charming string lights that lit up the venue. As the sun set over the water, the lights created a warm glow over the celebration. It felt like a fairytale!
The couple chose a color palette of greens coupled with natural tones, which curated a welcoming feeling. The floral arrangements created by Something Bloomed in Fort Myers added to the rustic theme. The bride’s bouquet was a combination of greenery and white roses, perfectly complementing the venue’s natural beauty.
Before the ceremony, instead of a first look, the couple opted to hold hands back to back, sharing a private moment before the ceremony without actually seeing each other. They shared a touch that instantly calmed any nerves they were feeling. Capturing this moment was so special.
George honored his father, who had passed away, by leaving an empty chair during the ceremony, symbolizing his presence and the importance of family. This small but lasting detail added a deep emotional layer to the ceremony, reminding everyone of the power of love and memory.
Gaby walked down the long aisle from the Heitman House in her dress by David’s Bridal. It was a scene every bride dreams about – friends and family smiling and tears flowing from those who care most. Surrounded by the people who have played the biggest part in Gaby and George’s love story, they shared vows written to each other overlooking the water.
When asked what was most important to them on their wedding day, Gaby and George’s answer was simple and sweet: “Marrying each other.” Their love for one another was evident in every moment. It showed in their vows and the way they looked at each other throughout the day. The love that surrounded this couple was evident from each of their guests as well.
Nothing Bundt Cakes provided the dessert while Gaby, George, and their guests spent the rest of the night on the dance floor. The perfect ending to an already amazing night if you ask me!
The wedding day timeline went flawlessly, a testament to the meticulous planning and the couple’s laid-back nature. Gaby and George were truly one of the sweetest couples I have had the pleasure of photographing, making the entire experience a joy from start to finish. Being a storyteller and shooting in a documentary style for this wedding will allow them to relive this moment over and over.
